The town
The city bears
the name of the owner of the agricultural domain on which
the city was built (Frontinius). Its history is related
to the one of Montpellier since, much like it, Frontignan
will belong successively to Guilhem then to the Kings
d' Aragon. During 17th and 18th centuries, the port developed
and became an important port of the Mediterranean sea,
but soon had to compete with the new port of Sète,
which became more important. The city is especially known
for its fertile grounds and its muscatel and its unique
taste. It preserved its authenticity and will make the
happiness of tourists found of beaches and nature. Frontignan
is located between the Mediterranean sea , the pond of
Ingril, the garrigues and the vines. The city is looked
over from the north by the solid mass of Gardiole. This
place satisfies all tourist tastes good food lovers, wine
lovers or just looking for a relaxing country holiday…

Frontignan has seven kilometers of beaches bathed by the
sun of the Mediterranean, water quality is guaranteed
by the label 'pavillon bleu'. All the sports activities
are accessible: windsurfing, water sport, jet-ski, kite-surfing
or deep-sea diving. For the amateurs of isolated beaches,
the beach of Aresquiers makes it possible to you to benefit
from the sea away from civilization…
