beach
La Grande Motte is
a seven kilometers long and well maintained sand beach.
The beach is supervised by three rescue stations, the
showers and medical care are placed along the beach and
all kinds of activities and leisures are available. Viliplanchists
and amateurs of Kite-surfing are very keen on this beach,
as well as other sports like the jet-ski (away from the
swimming zone). You can also benefit from the arranged
beaches which offer various services: hiring of pedal
boat, canoe but also many bars and restaurants. The city
of the Grande Motte east is nowadays a first class holiday
resort of Mediterranean sea and Herault to spend time
with one's family under the sun and by the sea…

The
town
La Grande Motte is known and set appart for its
buildings in the shape of pyramids made by the architect
Jean Balladur. They are astonishing and weather you like
them or not you will remember them for sure! Born in the
end of the sixties, it could exist thanks to the removal
of mosquitos of the grounds surronding it. It owes its
name to the wine field which existed before the city.
Many green areas were created in and around the city.
All the city was thought for tourism even if the Grande
Motte is inhabited all the year by of Héraultais.
She offers nautical activities in particular on the Pond
de l'Ouest but also a golf, a tennis, a nautical center…
and of course, essential element, a center of Thalassotherapy
which developed in the Nineties. All is accessible to
the visitors, cafés, shops, restaurants, banks
as well as a casino…
