Holidays & Tourism in Herault...

-

Hérault, the river which gave its name to the département it flows through has its source in Mont Aigoual at the heart of the Cévennes. It crosses a whole series of wonderful and diversified landscapes. It starts its journey in the middle of mountains coverd with nut trees it then crosses vignards and olive tree fiels to finally rich the garrigue and throw itself in the mediterranean sea. Over time it sculpted a contrasted landscape. Narrow ravinas and fast flow become wider and calmer.
Hérault attracts many tourists as you can bath or kayak on it in the middle of the wild nature which gives a unique sensation of freedom.
In order to access it you need to go along the different valleys which border the herault. Make sure you don't forget to visit the wonderful villages on your way...
