Little excursion around the lake of Salagou
The lac du Salagou has a wonderful scenery which is great to discover by foot. The red earth and rocks typical of the borders of the lac (which is especially due to the large amount of iron in the region) makes a surprising contarst with the deep blue waters of the lac and the flaming colors of the vegetation.
On the other side of the lac, there is a little village 'Celles' abandoned since the construction of the weir. The village houses are made of ruffe, the typical red stone of the Salagou valley. The little village can also be a gret place for a little stroll. Over the summer the grass is completly dried out which created a sort of lovely golden cover on the red hills...

• The excursion
From the carpark you reach a little pathway which will lead you along the border of the lac for about half of the time of your hike. It will enable you to see what nature has created along the lac... Many little beaches which seem like little shelters especially made for people seeking some peace and quiet along with privacy! After passing by a nice little stone house you will start making your way towards the carpark... Enjoy your walk!
