The city of Montpelier due
to its historic inheritance proposes a wide choice of
monuments and museums. The Churches of the city are
particularly beautiful whereas the mansions of XVIIth
and XVIIIth centuries are worth seeing. Some were even
transformed into museums. Conducted tours of the city
are organized, however the small size of the historic
center also allows the tourists curious to discover
the old town to roam through lanes full of hidden treasures.
There are thus two manners to discover Montpelier, by
visiting the historical heritage or by strolling in
the district of Ecusson.
