The church Denis Saint
A first church of the same name was built in XIème century outside the walls of the city. It was destroyed by the Protestants during the wars of religion not to be used for the Catholics.

The current church Saint Denis was built in 1699 within Daviler which is with the orgine many buildings on the town of Montpellier in particular on the walk of Peyrou.


The church was managed by Oratoriens then it was restored with the clergy.

In 1793, the church was closed by the Revolutionists who sold the buildings as well as furniture to private individuals in 1795. In 1801 the church was repurchased by the clergy which restored the religious offices.

The church was increased progressively of the centuries. The installation of the chorus is very recent since it was carried out in 1970.

It currently has very beautiful works of art such as marble statues of the Virgin and Crowned Heart (cf photographs below) as well as fabrics.


Less known than the churches Saint Roch and Sainte Anne, it deserves all the same a small visit for works placed inside.
